Sara Nuytemans (Belgium, 1970) studied Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft, followed by a Master’s in Digital Arts at the Pompeu Fabre University in Barcelona. She has been living in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for five years from 2012 till 2017, Now she is living in The Netherlands again. Nuytemans is technically savvy and her work is often structured with kinetic and/or interactive elements. In her work she shows great curiosity and empathy for human action.

Nuytemans has undertaken residencies in ARTlab (Venice), Cemeti Art House (Yogyakarta), Arna (Harlösa, Sweden) and in Treasure Hill Artist Village (Taipei).
