Pre-recorded video images of the visitor are thrown into the space in Observatories of the Self 1.1 to 1.4 in fragments, as if they were stars. Your mouth may be another star than your eye or your nose.
Each version of these observatories (1 to 4) is unique because it is always part of another, already existing space or like Observatory of the Self 1.3 placed in a self-constructed space.
Observatories of the Self is a continuous series of interactive kinetic installations that provide space for physical-meditative reflection. The artworks are worlds in themselves, worlds without (prejudices) judgments. The hypnotic effect of the revolving artworks result in an alienation of daily life and encourage a renewed focus, both on their own (inner) world and on the universe. They are observatories in which you are taken to other levels of consciousness.
